Born 1963. Joined the SCA in 1984 after encountering it at an SF convention. I have been River Haven seneschal, chronicler, herald and chirurgeon, and Crux Australis Herald. I am/was heavily into dance, and spent several years as a member of the Grand Council. I went largely inactive after some bad SCA politics in the mid 1990's, and will probably remain inactive for the foreseeable future. Most of the people I used to work with have also left, and the cycle of tourney, feast, court, rinse and repeat gets a bit tedious after a decade or so. I also get the impression that Lochac has been infected with a bad case of Creeping Authenticity, which is fine as an option, but should not be seen as a requirement.

Mundanely I am one of the collection managers for the Cultures and History program at the Queensland Museum, where I have worked since 1980. It has its moments, but not as many as you might think.

Outside of dance, none in the SCA. I stay subscribed to the various lists, but it is rare to see anything new on them.
